Journal of the Louisiana Health
Information Management Association

The Journal of the Louisiana Health Information Management Association (LHIMA) is a peer-reviewed, scholarly journal whose mission is the advancement of health information management. The focus is to promote research, develop and disseminate practice strategies, and encourage practitioners, educators and students to contribute to the understanding and improvement of HIM practice, processes and outcome.

Contributions to the journal may include research papers, case studies, historical reviews, literature searches, practice strategies, and educational commentaries.

HIM practitioners, educators, students and other health-care practitioners are encouraged to submit manuscripts.

Submitted manuscripts are subject to a peer review process known as a “double blind” process. An author will not know who reviewed his/her manuscript and the reviewer will not know the identity of the author(s).

The Journal of the Louisiana Health Information Management Association is published “continuously” as manuscripts are accepted. They will be archived once per year.
