MyPHR Campaign Update

September 17, 2010

Louisiana now has 18 newly trained trainers to present the MyPHR campaign material for a total of 34 presenters. LHIMA will be working to increase that number again this year.

At the April 2008 State Convention in New Orleans a goal was set to challenge each district to present three presentations on MyPHR. The newly trained trainers for the MyPHR campaign thought that this would encourage some friendly competition among the districts to tally the number of presentations. The results were announced during State Convention the district's awarded.

This year at the 2011 State Convention in Alexandria, the BOD of LHIMA would like to encourage a new competition with an individual challenge. Each presentation done by the trained trainers counts for that individual. All presentation numbers will need to be reported to Shelly Kirkland and AHIMA. LHIMA will be offering a free session for anyone who would like to be trained to do the MyPHR presentations in Alexandria, and recognizing the already trained trainers. CEU's will be offered for newly trained trainers and for anyone attending who is already trained. We will be exchanging ideas for opportunities for presentations, as well as displaying some of the brochures and materials available to do the presentations with.

It's a very exciting time to be involved with the MyPHR Campaign, AHIMA has a PHR Public Service Announcement that features celebrity John Walsh and the campaign has reached more than 4 million people in 11 major markets.
