Louisiana Tumor Registry
To collect complete and high-quality cancer data, Louisiana Tumor Registry (LTR) staff has to review pathology reports, radiology reports, disease indexes, and other clinical documents to identify potential reportable cancer cases and obtain additional information from healthcare facilities. This incumbent will also perform the above tasks and assist in creating cancer records, especially “history of” and “death certificate only” cases.
LSU Health N.O./School of Public Health/Louisiana Tumor Registry (LTR) is seeking a qualified person for an entry-level position entitled Cancer Clinical Data Collection Assistant to perform the following tasks: Screening disease indices, pathology reports, radiology reports, and other clinical documents in order to identify reportable cancer cases; Assist data process in cancer registry database; Contact healthcare facilities to obtain needed information and update cancer records; Abstract and code death certificate only and history of cases.
