Provides first-line supervision to predominately remote outpatient facility medical coders. Provides and/or arranges necessary knowledge-based resources required by the coding staff to meet quality and production standards. Provide adequate coverage for volumes. Complies, analyzes, and presents data related to performance, compliant billing, and documentation issues to the Coding Manager. Works to resolve coding and documentation issues, allowing for timely filing of outpatients hospital claims.
- If CPC certified, requires a minimum of 5 years of coding experience in a hospital setting; If CCS certified or RHIT credentialed, requires a minimum of 2 years of coding experience in a hospital setting; If RHIA credentialed, previous coding experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
- Must be credentialed through AHIMA as a RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator), RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) or credentialed through AAPC as a CPC-H.
